Chief Development Officer
Yumiko Whitaker is responsible for WHW’s income development and capacity building efforts. She brings a big picture mindset, keen attention to detail and a solid track record of success to the bustling workforce development non-profit. Director of Programs
Rachel orchestrates the leadership in the five programmatic branches of WHW’s Employment Readiness Development as well as WHW’s robust Volunteer Program. Her responsibilities include supervising, recruiting, and training lead staff to ensure the highest quality of service is extended to clients and collaborating corporate and nonprofit organizations. Rachel oversees placement objectives while designing and implementing strategic growth plans, resulting in expansion of programs, funding, and events. UpSkill OC Workforce Navigator
Brenda is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive path to employment for mid skill level positions. Through partnerships with United Way of Orange County, local business partners, educational institutions and select nonprofit agencies, Brenda oversees educational needs, job training, case management and new approaches to employment. Through an effective model of workforce development, Brenda ensures that barriers to mid skill level positions are identified, addressed and resolved in order to significantly increase the economic self-sufficiency of qualified job seekers.
David works collaboratively with WHW’s Director of Programs to plan and execute WHW’s Education Programs, including Employment Readiness Workshops, Computer Training Workshops and other Program Events. David helps to manage client outcomes and oversee Department Volunteers in various capacities. Additionally he recruits, places, tracks, trains and evaluates Education Department Volunteers to effectively use the donation of their time and talents to produce a high level of efficiency within the Department and Organization.
Ginger manages the day-to-day profitable and smooth operations of WHW’s retail social enterprise, Deja New and manages WHW’s Donation and Processing Center. Ginger oversees retail sales, customer service, inventory management, merchandising, social media and internal controls. Ginger establishes, facilitates and documents daily procedures, provides daily, weekly and monthly sales reports and strategically works to increase retail profits in support of WHW’s mission and programs.
Ana coordinates WHW’s Apparel Program. She oversees incoming referrals, helps to schedule services, coordinates volunteers and works directly with Job Seekers to ensure they have access to appropriate apparel for interviews. Ana also assists in WHW’s Retail Store, Deja New, in WHW’s Donation and Processing Center and in WHW’s many special program events.
Alma supports WHW’s Chief Operating Officer in ensuring that back office functions deliver a high level of efficiency and effectiveness. Alma provides data, facilities, technology and marketing support, oversees WHW’s Transportation Program and takes on special projects to help keep WHW running at a high level of impact.
Donation Center Coordinator
Angela is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of WHW’s Donation and Processing Center. Angela ensures that a thorough quality assessment is made of all incoming donations and that they are distributed to the proper program. Angela provides training and direction to a host of volunteers keeping WHW Apparel Centers and Retail Shop well stocked!
Lizette supports WHW’s mission through a variety of key tasks and processes, ensuring that our nonprofit partners and job seekers receive a high quality of service and follow up. She oversees front desk management, assist Job Seekers with getting registered for appropriate programs and coordinates WHW’s Intern Program.
