Brenda Walters
Brenda WaltersProgram Director
“My passion for helping people to find great jobs stems from 20 years of experience working with women and men who feel helpless and hopeless because they are not able to support their families. Having a job that will pay the rent, put food on the table, provide healthcare and enable children to complete their education is critical in so many ways. My greatest satisfaction is supporting our job seekers, one by one, in overcoming the barriers that keep them from achieving financial security.”

“I am driven by assisting others in developing the skills they need to be successful. And successful people generally have a growth mindset, continually learning new things to improve themselves. That is why my passion and my calling is to help train others. I am continually inspired by WHW job seekers and their willingness to step outside of their comfort zone in order to learn what they need to know to improve their lives and pivot into a new career.”

“It has always been important to me to dedicate my time and talent to a meaningful cause. When I first came to WHW as an intern, it was obvious that the organization was singularly focused on helping job seekers successfully enter the workforce, and I wanted to be part of what they were doing. Today, whether I am working one-on-one with job seekers, assisting in educational programs or managing back office details, I know that everything I do is helping someone get a job. It makes me proud to be part of a team that is not just mission focused, but is mission driven.”

“Since the day I stepped into WHW as an Intern, I have been impressed with the organization’s collaborative, fast-paced and motivating culture, focused on one thing – helping people get jobs! It brings me much personal satisfaction knowing that every dollar I help raise through managing WHW’s social enterprise, Deja New, goes directly to moving lives forward. I am grateful to be part of a team which is invested in continuous professional and personal growth and in making a lasting impact on the community.”
